About Marie LaPlante
I am a results-driven marketing executive with experience in creating unique, differentiating brand strategies and engaging consumer communications for both B2B and B2C brands in technology, service, retail and CPG.
I founded Marie LaPlante Consulting in 2021 to focus on what I love doing – creative problem solving and no-nonsense brand building. I have worked with brands ranging from small start-ups to Fortune 500 companies, helping them develop successful brand strategy, integrate their communications for maximum ROI, and optimize their marketing teams & agency resources.
Before I started consulting, I served as Chief Marketing Officer at Learning Resources, growing the educational toy company from the #53 largest toy manufacturer in the U.S. to #33 in just a few years, by creating a solid brand strategy and their first-ever brand campaigns. I developed a ‘digital first’ mindset within the company, utilizing digital media to make Learning Resources a top toy brand on Amazon.
I’ve spent almost half of my career in technology/eCommerce with Orbitz.com, as a senior leader who was able to successfully tell the Orbitz brand story through award-winning marketing campaigns, both offline and online.
I started my career in direct marketing, working for agencies like Ogilvy & Mather, and spanned diverse clients in CPG, Finance and Technology. My strong analytic start ensures that I place ROI at the forefront of every program, with a test-and-learn mentality that ensures I am always optimizing toward strong and sustainable revenue growth.
